Pollen and Milestones

The heat and the pollen count is slowly rising in Flo-rizz-da bringing along with it my bi-annual sinus flooding. (Not to be confused with winter’s “so dry your nose bleeds” extravaganza.) This year I am being proactive by swabbing with Zycam in case a cold wants to try and piggyback in there. But enough about snot…

First of all, a big thank you to those of you who took the time to give some feedback on my questions. It sounds like Kelly and I will keep on keepin’ on with the blog and try to get more photos and videos online. If any of you ever have a specific request or question, feel free to let us know.

BRING ON THE NEW SOPHIE PHOTOS!

In baby news, many milestones have been occurring in this exciting fourth month. Sophie has been gaining lots of muscle strength and can now hold her head up the majority of the day. Not only does this allow her to have a neck, it also opens more fun ways for Kelly and I to mess with her. Nothing bad of course, just fun things like standing up when we lift her by her hands. So much fun!
Other milestones include her first solid food ever. Taking advice from Sophie’s Great-Grandmother Moore, we decided to start with a vegetable: pureed carrots! (Which she seems to enjoy.) From her weeks of watching us eat, Sophie understood the concept of food-goes-in-mouth very quickly. We are still working on the more difficult concept of actually swallowing the carrots and not squishing them in and out of her mouth with her tongue. Unfortunately for Kelly, Sophie figured out how to squirrel away a good volume of carrots just in time for a big sneeze. Result: new outfits!
