Well, we are heading to the end of Sophie’s 6th week and going through growing pains. She is fussy, tired, excited, awake, droopy, hungry, uncomfortable, happy, smiling and trying to make her first noises. And this is all in a two hour period at night. This is enough to wear two adults out! Sophie is now a healthy 11 pounds and I think most of her growth has happened in the last two days! UGH! Greg and I are toughing it out trying to tell ourselves that this too will pass. We know she is just trying to figure out her world and all the new things that she is discovering. She is more alert than ever and usually only sleeps about 3 hours during the day, 3 hours not all together either. Basically she wakes up at 7:00 am and goes to bed about 9:00 pm, with several cat naps in between. The great thing is she is now sleeping 5 hours and after a good feeding time another 4 hours (happy mommy).
So we slog through the growing pains and hope for an end soon, knowing that is not the last one by any means. Thankfully the teenage years are a far way off, those growing pains are not something we are looking forward to.
