Small wonders, I get a chance to write some. Sophie is amazing. I can’t believe we have this small little life that brings us so much joy. As Greg said, she eats and sleeps well and we enjoy being with her when she is awake and watching the world.
This last week she got to spend time with her Grandparents from Michigan, which was a huge help for Greg and me. Mainly, it gave us two extra sets of hands to handle Sophie with. Just this afternoon my dad held Sophie while she slept so I could shovel in some mac and cheese. Of course, I won’t have this next week, but somehow I will survive.
She is growing quickly even for her first few days of life. We have already noticed that the swaddler diapers are getting tight and we might have to move on to the next size. This growth has been helped by her constantly wanting to feed. I am trying to not feel like a milking machine, but for the most part I am. The nights are great, two or three feedings, but the mornings and afternoons can top out at 6 or 7. Whew! I am quite happy when she finally goes down for a long nap at 2:00 and I can pass out as well.
I do want to thank everyone for their support and prayers. It has been great to know that people were praying for us as we went through labor, delivery and the first days of Sophie’s life. We love you all and soon we will be able to bring Sophie out to meet you!
