Well, Greg and I are sleeping in separate bedrooms because of the addition of extra pillows and new positions that have entered my sleeping routine. However, this situation has caused great trauma to the cat. She used to sleep on my side of the bed at the bottom and every day around 7:00 she would come up and wake me. It was either to go out or get some food in her dish. She would NEVER, EVER bug Greg. It was always me.
Well, two nights ago she discovered me in the other room and decided to sleep with me. That was not a problem because we kept our same routine and at 7:00 she came up and woke me. However, last night was a different story. She slept with Greg and decided that 5:00 am was a perfect time to tell me she was hungry. She spent a good 20 minutes pawing the sheets, running around the room and finally climbing on my head to tell me to get up and feed her. I was not amused. SIDE NOTE: don’t worry, when the baby comes I will be getting up to feed it, not rolling over and trying to go back to sleep. I just don’t have the same propensity to do this for our cat. So, I acted like I was getting up, which caused her to run from the room and for me to take the opportunity to shut the door. Fortunately, we have a stupid cat that doesn’t understand the physics of opening a door, so I was left alone to peacefully go back to sleep.
Then at 7:00 this morning, I heard Greg groan and moan and get out of bed 30 minutes before the alarm goes off. I then heard a meowing cat and food hitting her bowl. After this I heard the front door open and close, obviously the cat wanted to go out. Greg proceeded to head back to bed after that. So, NOW the cat knows she can bug him for food. HEEHEE. Maybe I will be able to get some more rest in the morning. Although Greg isn’t to happy about this arrangement, secretly this makes me kind of happy. At least when the baby comes I won’t be feeding everyone in the house.
