We made it past the two week mark! Sophie is doing well and so are Greg and I. We went to my two week appointment and the doctor says everything is looking good. I can drive now (the Echo, not the stick shift Scion) and go for short walks, but nothing strenuous. I am still on my, “only stand for 30 minutes” restriction until I go back on January 7 and the heaviest thing I can pick up is Sophie (which is funny because she gains weight everyday.)
Sophie has figured out night and day. She usually gets up around 8:00 in the morning and crashes about 4:00 in the afternoon. By then she is out for about 2.5 hours and eats for about 20 minutes. She keeps that pattern up the rest of the night. She has kept that schedule now for the last 13 days, hopefully she will keep at it. We do have our fuss moments where she can’t figure out if she is hungry, tired or bored. We try really hard to make sure she is clean and fed in these moments and pray she figures out that tired is her option and she falls to sleep. One problem is mom doesn’t know many, “Baby go to sleep” songs, so I usually rock her to some nonsensical humming or hand her to dad who has a much better singing voice and musical repertoire.
My mom went back home today, so I am on my own tomorrow. It is a little scary not having the extra safety net and the chance to actually get in a shower in the morning because I can hand Sophie to my mom. But Sophie and I will figure it all out. Well, that is about all. Sophie is peacefully sleeping right now, but soon the little, “feed me” cry will sound from the crib and mom will be on duty again!

It was wonderful to see all of you this morning! Sophie is SO pretty; even prettier than when I saw her in the hospital! Kelly, you look great; keep up the good work! Love to you all!
