Hello to all of you liv­ing in the out­side world. I’ve tried to write an update twice through­out the first week but Sophie would always need some­thing and I’d com­pletely for­get. Actually, that’s pretty indica­tive of just about every­thing right now.

Example:
Greg: *thinks to him­self* I’m going to get a glass of water. *Greg stands and gets a glass out of the cup­board*
Sophie: “WAAAAAA!“
Greg: *goes to change diaper/pick up/help with feed­ing*
Sophie: ZZzzzzzz
Greg: *walk­ing back into kitchen* “Why is this cup in the mid­dle of the counter?”

Despite the small bouts of amne­sia, every­thing has been going very well for us. Sophie is a won­der­ful lit­tle girl and it is dif­fi­cult to imag­ine what we did before she came into our lives. She eats well, sleeps very well, and is end­lessly fas­ci­nated with sounds. We never tire of watch­ing her wake up and stare at the world around her with such won­der. We are smit­ten with every­thing she does…well, almost every­thing. We could really use less poop.

We want to say thank you to all of you who prayed and gave us well-wishes. It means a lot to know you’re bring­ing a child into a lov­ing com­mu­nity of fam­ily and friends. We ask that you be patient with us if we don’t call, write, or visit enough as our whole world has changed and we are try­ing to estab­lish new rou­tines. We will still update this blog and con­tinue to add more pho­tos to our Flickr account.
