Today marks Kelly’s ninth month of pregnancy! It’s been too fast at times and far too slow at others. I’m sure we will say the same once Sophie is born as well. ![]()
Because of the increasing demands on Kelly’s body and our lack of sleep, posting updates has become difficult to accomplish. The whole world doesn’t need to know about all the messy details but we also don’t want to bore you with cold facts either. I am finding that blogging about something so intimate and immediate is far more difficult than when we went to Japan. (Some of you are saying “duh!”) I guess what I’m trying to say for both Kelly and I is that although we want to keep all of you readers in the know, it is difficult to sit down at a keyboard and distill life-changing events into a few paragraphs. We will try our best but neither of us are professional writers.
So anyway, we had another trip to the hospital Monday night as Kelly awoke at 1am having trouble breathing. We quickly went to the maternity triage where we learned that she was having a bad case of acid reflux which was blocking her esophagus due to the “relaxin” chemical her body has been producing. Both mom and baby-in-the-belly are fine but taco night has been postponed untill further notice.
The baby shower my mother and our close friend Bobbi threw for us was great. A big thank you to everyone who came and a we miss you to those who couldn’t make it. Who knew one tiny human could have so much stuff! I don’t think I brought this much when I went to college! Unlike the baby however, I wasn’t expected to throw up on it all. (insert college party joke here)
Lastly, I’m still pumped at the idea of becoming a dad. I find myself daydreaming about all of the things we are going to do together. Just the idea of being able to let her sleep on my chest makes me smile. I can’t wait to meet her.

down with Taco night!!! up with cheescake factory! heh.
oh hey and if Brad has not told you yet, my Xbox and T.V. died…both are in the shop…so I will not be online for a while I suppose, God bless yall and you all are in our prayers!
Home after a week of no-odor paint for the closet and learning to hang shelves that an elephant could swing from. Also realized that it is not easy to hang anything on walls made of cement. The main goal on this trip to sunny ( and humid) Florida was to came back to Michigan and know that when you two walked by the “guest room”, you would feel that it really is a welcoming room for your daughter to be! Now we wait to the final event!!!
Love MichMom
Oh, we love seeing that room. It looks like a little girl lives there!
Thank you for all of your hard work!
Sophie’s room is so pretty! Grandma did a great job organizing everything and getting it ready for Gods’ newest little angel. It is so calm and welcoming. Can’t wait to see and get my hands on that little girl!
Thanks for the update! I’m sorry that Kelly was having trouble again, but I’m so thankful that everything turned out okay.
And HAHHA, I’ll bet Sophie does own more stuff than I do right now! (Well, maybe. I do enjoy my books and knicknacks.)
And I CAN’T WAIT to be an aunt!
