It has been a rough couple of weeks in the Moore family household. Mainly due to the lack of sleep we have been getting. This is due to two major factors (one factor effects Greg, both effect Kelly). One is a new cat (long story) and the other is very painful body parts.
First the cat. We have a cute little cat that decided to adopt us when Greg and I moved into the house. She is about four years old and enjoys hanging outside during the day and then snuggling up with us in the evening. She faithfully waits for us every lunch time to let her in and then goes back outside until we come home for dinner. She is like clock work and has been for the past year.
However, about three weeks ago she went missing for six days. We didn’t know what happened to her and assumed that she was either picked up by the pound, the neighbors came and took her back to their new home or worse she didn’t make it across the street in time. We decided on the seventh day to check the pound and if she wasn’t there, we would get a new kitty. Well, we got a new kitty. Brought her home and started to warm up to her, when the neighbors came over and said, “Hey, look who was locked in our garage for the last seven days”, and there was our stray little cat. So, we have two cats now. Two cats that don’t get along very well and like to race around the house at about 4:00 in the morning. It is basically kitty race track for about 30 minutes every morning. Ugh.…no sleep for either of us. That is one factor.
The other factor is the fact that I cannot sleep on a normal bed without waking up a cripple in the morning. My hips ache so bad that my OB is having me go to physical therapy on Monday. I guess having your hips hurt like someone is trying to pull your legs off is not a normal pregnancy sign. Now, I can sleep on the couch and my hips don’t hurt, but then my back hurts so bad that I have trouble standing up. So it is either sleep in the bed and have no back pain but painful hips or sleep on the couch and have the opposite. I have yet to figured out which is the lesser of two evils.
So, that is our sleepless story. Cats and hips (and backs). Only four months to go! YAY!! Will Kelly survive? For that matter, will we have living pets by the end of it all. They might have hurting hips by the time I am done with them.
