Just a quick update to let you know that our inter­net com­mu­ni­ca­tions may be less respon­sive than usual. The Linksys Wireless Range Extender (WRE54G) we use to “bor­row” our inter­net con­nec­tion from work decided that it just couldn’t go on. Kelly and I are very miffed that it lasted less than a year before giv­ing up the ghost. We are also upset that it left no note to explain why it felt that life was not worth liv­ing. I won­der if the big elec­tron­ics store in the sky accepts suicides?

We could just buy a replace­ment but I don’t want another Linksys com­ing into our house with it’s bad atti­tude turn­ing all our other elec­tron­ics against us. Instead, we ordered a D-Link (DWL-G710) for the same price. (Thanks Amazon!) Let’s hope this one doesn’t require a pre­scrip­tion to Prozac.

Update: The new D-Link came in and (with a lit­tle help from our net­work admin) installed per­fectly. It is also way more pow­er­ful so it doesn’t need to live in the window.
